Frequently asked questions
Will compressing reduce my image quality?
Balanced and Best quality presets are visually lossless for photos — differences are not noticeable at normal viewing sizes. Maximum compression trades visible sharpness for the smallest possible file.
Why does my PNG convert to WEBP by default?
PNG has no quality dial, so re-saving it barely helps. WEBP keeps transparency and is typically 60–80% smaller. You can tick “Keep PNG format” to only reduce dimensions instead.
